Can you give me an idea on what your framerates are at 1280, 32 bit?

I've tried various setting son my x800pro, 2xaa, 4xaa, various antri filtering.. but no matter what the frame rate drops as low as 25, in extreme cases 19.. and averages 25 on big maps 50 on small maps.

I *should* get a lot better perf than a 9800, so just trying to determine if my frame rates are abnormal here.

    Running a p4 clocked to 3.1gig, 1 gig ram.

    i average 50 with a 9800pro barton xp clock to 2.2gig(3200xp speed) thats with 2aa 8af on

    aving said that, im @ 1024 x 768

btw did ya run driver cleaner to remove all your old drivers?

Weird thing is, no matter how much I reduce (or increase) the settings, both in game (i.e. medium, high, highest) or in the gfx control panel (2xaa, 4xaa etc) - I seems to have the same fram rates.

avg 70 with no players in a corner. Avg 35 with playes in middle. Avg 25 in big firefights.

Could it be something to do with my gf drivers still lurking around?

I noticed that I have a "secondary" display driver.. you dont' suppose it's in dual monitor mode do you? Would explain framerate being half of what I'd expect..

It's always got the Secondary display driver, even with only one monitor active.as
  6. I have exactly the same problem Silk, not quite as low as 25fps though. Turning off EAX 3d sound and all the speech recognition/text to speech crap was about the only thing that made a difference to the frame rate.

    2ghz p4, 1gb ram and radeon 9800pro

on my 1.4 tbird bollock monkey with extra disabled people i get about 30-50 i guess, dropping lower ocassionally (with low config stuff)

    truform off?

erm YES and erm YES u need to remove the old drivers 1st

    http://www.driverheaven.net/cleaner/ <------- use this

id clean ya system of both nv and ati drivers then reinstall the ati drivers

    Gonna format tonight anyway :)

    Cheers.

Could you be CPU limited? That would explain it making no difference when you swapped cards ....
  11. With a 3.1ghz processor? I'd doubt that. Although having seen UT benchmarks the 9800xt out performs the x800xt platinum anyway, however it was a lot more than 25fps still.....

The P4 could have throttled though if it's overheating, and therefore not be a 3.1 gig.

    So NER NER NER-NER NER.

    :)
  13. Giant Server Monkey

Yes with a 3.1Ghz cpu, a lot of the benchmarks show that as you get into higher res (1280+) that all the cards start to perform at a similar level and this is due to something other than the card being the bottleneck in the system. Typically this is the cpu as there really hasn't been a significant jump in CPU power for a while.
  14. Silk Geek

The benchmarks on Toms page of 90+ fps at 1280 are on a 3.2

And my cpu is always far from overheating :)

how do you see framerate in ut2k4? we have a 9800pro and 3ghz p4 (not o/ced) 1gb ram I can have a look later if you want.
  16. KW 197

type in the console stat fps

kewl ta will give it a go :)

75-35 depending on how busy things are - 1024x and everything on maximum

Whats your system? Especially want to know your ram.. mines pc2700 and I'm wondering if its fucking me over.
